IGISS is NOT SET UP TO COMPETE with private sector companies. In fact, IGISS' primary goal is to partner with companies that have a workforce development need. IGISS wants to complement and equip US companies with geospatial workers that provide an alternative to off-shore outsourcing. Much of the GIS data that these industries deal with needs to be viewed as a Capital Asset. These assets need to stay onshore to prevent the information from entering the wrong hands.
With IGISS’ Geospatial Business Hubs in Charlotte and Nashville we can supply the workers needed to work on geospatial data. IGISS can also tailor a geospatial curriculum to match your geospatial industry needs.
Currently IGISS is working on establishing a Land Records/Utilities Business Hub to serve the geospatial needs in those two areas. Future plans are underway to establish additional vertical industry training based on industry needs.
